Although I had not smoked since November of 1969, I purchased this Zippo cigarette lighter from the BX at Cold Bay AFS in 1970. It shows the radar site as part of the DEW line, but by the time I arrived, the detachments in the Aleutians that had been part of the 714th Squadron and DEW (Distant Early Warning) Line had been disbanded. The drawing does not show the height-finder tower and dome that were added after the detachments were closed.
