Hanging out at the beach at sunset is something that is dear to us who live along the coast of Southern California. But the recent oil spill from an off shore pipeline just north of us reminds everyone here just how fragile and precarious this precious environment is. Oil spills do tremendous environmental damage to coastal beaches, towns and wildlife and recovery is slow and expensive. We need to do so much more to protect our environment on so many levels.
