A pair of dogs and their hoominz watch the sunrise over the ocean from Bulli Beach reserve, although the kelpie on the left seems more interested in what's going on in the park.
The spotlit effect comes from the lights which are on the Bulli Beach Cafe which is off to my right.
A commenter on a previous image made a very good point that he was using his photo gallery as more of a journal these days, which is my intent as well... though clearly I'm doing a rubbish job at it, though I do have a number of as yet unpublished photos to put up.
So here we are in the first week of October. The Labour Day holiday fell on Monday, meaning that we're now in the short run to the end of the year. NSW has been in lockdown for over 100 days, but in total Victoria has set a world record for time in lockdown; if it comes out of lockdown as forecast on October 26 it will have spent 267 days in lockdown, beating Buenos Aires, the previous record holder. Our premier, Gladys Berejiklian, who steered the state through the lockdown crisis, was forced to resign last week when it was announced that the Independent Commission Against Corruption was investigating her.
NSW has now hit 70% of the adult population having had a double dose of vaccine so there will be some re-openings on Monday the 11th. Restaurants and gyms will reopen. People in regional areas (not us) will be able to travel to other regional areas. People in "greater Sydney" will be able to travel for holidays... in their own Local Government Area, according to the last press release. (You WHAT?)
There will be further openings when the state hits 80% double dose vaccination (for adults, though the percentage for 12-15 year olds is moving up rapidly too).
In the meantime I intend to continue my morning walks on which I take photos like this... but to take the Olympus more often rather than relying on my phone camera.
