Cumberland, BC

A shop window depicting a historic film strip of Cumberland

The left frame shows the condition of the early work camps
housing the migrant workers who toiled in the coal mines.

The middle frame shows a Steam Donkey at work. A Steam Donkey
is steam powered winch once widely used in logging, mining,
maritime, and other industrial applications. Its winch was attached
by cable or rope to pull sleds filled with lumber or other heavy loads.

The right frame shows the shift to logging as the coal mining
industry wound down.

an eye-catching window...the film frames, perforations and all, are a clever idea, and most apt for the vingtage images..
