It seems as if we have a solution to the battery problem in Ginny's Lexus. I did some more measuring and figured that the battery is draining at 250 milliamps. That is enough to drain it in a couple weeks. As I mentioned before we got a battery maintainer gadget from Harbor Freight (one of my favorite places) and hooked it up. At first I was worried that it wasn't doing its job because it didn't every seem to get to the maintain mode. Finally, after two days, it got there. I checked the open circuit voltage and it was 12.7, which is about right. Now we keep it hooked up all the time. Ginny ran extension cord to the other side of the car so that the wires aren't a tripping hazard. She knows how to unhook it so she can head out anytime even if I am not around. I still need to hunt down the current leak. I have a feeling it is the CD changer in the trunk, but it is a pain to get at, so with our current solution, there is no pressing need. While I was messing around in the trunk I checked the spare tire and found it to be flat. I pumped it up and it is good to go.
