Four images of a Black-crowned Night Heron fly-by.

Top Image: As I was taking some shots of a Green Heron and friends, a B-c Night Heron suddenly appeared from behind the cattails on the upper left, as lightly cloned-in.


Luckily, my camera was set to "Group-mode" for flight shots and I was able to get several consecutive flight shots as it flew from good light, then through a darker shadowed area and finally again in good light, backed by a reflected blue sky.




This shot was taken in the shadow of an overhead dark cloud.


The Heron obliged me by doing a fly-by in a bright setting.
