I was fiddling with the upstairs thermostat today and needed to look something up in the instructions. In the old days I would pull out a giant accordion file with all our saved manuals and go through it until I found what I needed. That worked OK most of the time. Then we started saving appliance manuals in another place.
But there is a better solution. For years now I have been finding the manuals online and saving them to our data thumb drive. I figure that I have over 175 manuals for all sorts of things. I have all the manuals for our photo equipment. You will notice that Canon, for example, no longer includes user guides with their stuff.
Now there is one more advantage of using the electronic manuals. You can search the pdf files. I got the manual I wanted and searched "flash" and in a couple seconds I was at the information for what the flashing Cool On light means. This works for me. It is also handy for searching big catalogs. Just a tip for my friends. Today's photo is a screen grab of one of the directories holding manuals.
I do the same, John, much preferring a PDF manual over a printed copy. That said, the Canon 90D I recently bought did come with a fairly thick (200 page) printed user guide, which I leave stored in the box and use the PDF version when I want to look up something about the camera.
