Elsewhere, I mentioned that Walt was the office prankster at work. He would sketch characters on friends’ drawings if they left them unguarded. Well, apparently Walt had decades of experience at doing such things. In his papers that I inherited, was a Students Drawing Tablet (book) from 1929. It had belonged to his best friend from art school. By the mid-1930’s, Walt was already practicing the art of drawing on whatever sheet of paper was available. This page from that tablet was drawn in 1935, the year that bachelor Walt turned 26 years old.
