Figwort borer moth (Hydraecia stramentosa), #9516

Larose Forest

I was struck by the colours on this moth, one I had not seen before. Thanks to iNaturalist for ID. Apparently the larvae feed only on Figwort. I had earlier in the year found a number of larvae on figwort in Larose Forest, but so far can't determine if they are the larvae of this moth. It seems to have been reported only a few times from Ontario.
