The Deed

to which cause the elm, oak and maple so much grief.

The spring cankerworm (Paleacrita vernata Peck) rapidly defoliated so many trees in the neighbourhood this year.

Now 'adults', they are 'making' next year's army of cankers (or inch worms). The male, with the more ornate antenna, is on the left.

a bit of hanky=canky then...no good will come of it either, if they are destroying trees, especially our precious maples..
