After the smooth-it/concrete had dried for 24 hours, it was carefully sanded with 220 grit sandpaper. The non-paved ground areas of the scene were painted with my “Colorado dirt” paint. Because I will be adding “dirt” ground cover to these areas, it probably was not necessary. However, this is the technique I have used for other areas of the layout and I did not want to mess up this scene by omitting the painting step. Next up will be to stain or paint the concrete.
