Day 5 - the land recovers from a previous year's fire.

"Jack pine and lodgepole pine have serotinous cones (protected by a waxy coating) that require the heat of fire to release their seeds.
Fire also produces favorable conditions for the seeds of these pines to germinate."

Wonderful lines, vertical and diagonal. A very fine shot and it will be a pleasure to watch the land return to form.

We have a lot of scenes like this here - pity it takes so long to rejuvenate - and one really feels for animals (and people) caught up in the infernos ! V

Ironic. The heat that kills them also assists in producing seeds("dammed if you do and dammed if you don't)

It makes stunning patterns on the landscapes ! It will take a long time to see again the hills as they were before, but at last it will ! V.

an intriguing image that almost appears to be a drawing...back to square one for the forest then...with luck a few fallen seeds survived to kickstart a revival..

So sad to see all the dead trees, but heartening with the green coming back.
