Although I don't remember specifically talking to him about it, during the Thirties and Forties Dad created certain characters that show up more than once in his work. This tycoon in a smoking jacket is one of those. Some of the others are obviously proposals for comic strips. Note that this was sketched just four months after Pearl Harbor. Dad had a subtle sense of humor.
