Locarno Beach

many logs wash up on Vancouver shores, and the parks board clears most away...a few are left as useful if somewhat rustic beach furniture

the still loaded container ships are evidence of ongoing port congestion...BC wildfires have slowed rail links to and from the port, resulting in difficulties moving goods in or out

Love how the log serves as a meet-up place to get the gear ready.

An unusual scene for me mixing summer's pleasures and containers ships traffic. V.

It is great to consider the massive ships, the log which floated in and the tiny little one person blue crafts.
I love the human element as well as the natural beauty.

Looks as though human activity is creating a somewhat chaotic scene, hope the beach goers can still enjoy this nice area. Good shooting, David. V

I've seen a few container ships out in the Strait - maybe they're going slow so as not to create a jam.

It’s so interesting to see the ships with the people on the beach. The logs do seem useful. V

That's a big log! And it sure attracted these paddleboarders. The ships may have a long wait. :( V

I heard about some rail closures. So this is what happens.

A neat scene well captured and well explained. Those fires are sure devastating.

A handy piece of furniture to have. Like the ships and mountains in the background.

Great composition with the ships in view, and that's a pretty big log to just wash up on shore.
