Located on a small hill from which we can see the whole municipality, Parc del Castell is an area of relaxation and leisure for people of all ages in Malgrat de Mar. On the hill there is a small tower from the 14th century, which belonged to the old castle, where there was a machine-gun nest, installed in the Spanish Civil War.There is free access to the park and children’s playgrounds. The plant life in the park is also very interesting as there are 127 species of plants, flowers and trees, which have plaques displaying their names. There are several itineraries which are designed to show off every nook and cranny of the park.Moreover, this green area is the setting for different cultural activities and has hosted sardana dance meetings, neighbourhood festivals, concerts and open-air dances. The park was refurbished in 2002.
