Independent Youngster

A lone, young male Wood Duck paddling along at sunset, seemingly fending for himself.
I watched him scurrying to and fro, happily catching insects to eat.
He has no shortage of siblings around should he desire any company.

there does come a time when one has to strike out and fend alone... just the comp to underscore a solitary moment, and the setting is bewitching..
