Happy to get the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine today!

Due to an initial shortage of supply at the beginning of the vaccination
campaign, Canada chose to vaccinate as many of the population as
possible with a single dose to gain earlier control of the pandemic.
The interval to the second dose was extended to four months and was met
with criticism and concern. But the strategy seemed to have paid off.
Studies out of Oxford in the U.K. shows that one dose provides effective
protection for several months and in fact delaying the second shot may
have a better booster effect with a stronger immune response. The second
shot is still essential for enduring immunity and also provides more effective
protection against all the variants.

The supply of Pfizer vaccines have ramped up and it is anticipated that
everyone will complete two doses by the summer.
