Pulaski Square, laid out in 1837, honors General Casimir Pulaski, the Polish-born Revolutionary War hero who died of wounds received in the Siege of Savannah in 1779. It is one of the few squares without a monument. Pulaski's statue is located in nearby Monterey Square.
