Kailey has been belled because of her habit
of sneaking off into the forest to explore.

The yellow stuff is Scotch Broom, an invasive
species that is taking hold on Quadra Island.
It's bad news for a number of reasons, not
least of which is its high combustability.

Shot on the vintage lens at either f/5.6 or 8.

That looks like a fab lens Don, you've captured an in-flight Kailey really well here

Bells work quite well - until they lose them. Terrific shot of Kailey romping.

Great shot of the local landscape and your wandering dog.

It is beautiful despite it being invasive. She seems happy to be running about. V

Kailey and Tug would get along great. He gets belled for woods walks too! Love those huge evergreens and Kailey's happy look running back to you.

Nice shot of Kailey. The yellow does seem out of place.

I love the photo. It is unusual to see the subject running towards the camera.

Is there anything that can be done about the invasive species?

Invasive species is a universal problem. I have seen it in the Hyda Guai and in Europe.

crisp result from that lens...her bell might be useful in warning off bears too..

Safety first. Sad about the invasive. I'm battling a few here.

We once heard of a Bull Terrier whose habit was to run away so they tied a cement block on a rope to his collar....that dog was seen everywhere dragging it behind :)

She's a clever one! I guess you'll be able to hear bells wherever you are now!
