Admiral Lord Nelson in 1801

The Royal Clarence Hotel Exetor The Duchess of Clarence ( Queen Adelaide stayed here in 1827, the hotel was renamed in her honour

Franz Liszt, 1811–1886, Hungarian pianist and composer, gave two recitals here on successive days in 1840

Other famous names stayed here, Thomas Hardy in 1915
And Clark Gable and Gary Cooper while serving in the US Airforce during WW2
Lord Louis Mountbatten 1950

Sadly in October 2016 The Royal Clarence Hotel in Exeter was completely gutted after a fire broke out.

Apparently Michael Jackson stayed there in 2002 as well.
