Encounter

This morning while walking off trail in the fog I came upon this creature. It seemed to be sleeping.
I was not sure if it was a Wampus Cat or a Squonk, or perhaps something different.
Not wanting to learn the consequences if the creature was wakened, I decided to leave.
As I turned, I thought I saw it move bit. Fortunately I made it back to the trail and then home.
I told no one about this, except you...

Glad they haven't mated with Australian Drop Bears. You wouldn't know whether to look up or down. Be safe. V!

Yes! I wouldn't have got too near.

LOL, def a Squonk :o). You did well not wake it up though Walter, they can be troublesome things if wakened up unexpectedly!!

You were brave to get so close with the 38mm - I would have used my 600mm...

The eyes nose and mouth look like a sleeping Wampus Cat, but there should be pointy ears as well. In any case, good thing your D500's shutter didn't wake whatever it is.

You may have encountered the last living Ankylosaur! Word gets out you’ll be famous! Well seen! V

who knows what lurks in the pearly shrub...wise to be circumspect Walter, particularly around a possible Wampus Cat..

I would have done the same....V

Oh wow... this is really an odd one! I would have turned around too! V
