Today was a driving day. Not very long (434 miles) but we spent seven hours on the road. We had a construction delay on IH 77 north of Charlotte. The entire drive was on Interstate Highways except for 20 miles getting to IH 85 in Atlanta. On this particular day I drove the first leg for more than five hours before taking a break. I don't normally go that long (2 1/2 to 3 is the usual) but I was in the groove and thinking about stuff.

So what was the highlight of the day? Along the road in Gaffney, SC, is a water tower decorated as a peach. Ginny got a shot of it as we whizzed by. You know you are really having an exciting day when this is the highlight. But, this was a repositioning day and we ended up in Beckley, WV, for a three night stay to visit the newest National Park, New River Gorge. Should be fun.
