Ate 8-track

Tucson, AZ

So, I went to play a recently acquired, nearly 50year old quadraphonic 8 track tape, and it eventually stopped playing after a minute or so. I had to take apart my player to get the tape out, and this is the result. The tape had broke- the player is fine. I just wished it had happened with a non-quadraphonic tape. I doubt there were many people on the planet that had to remove a stuck 8-track from their 8-track that day....

That's a very sorry looking sight...I played them in the early '70s and I find them more superior sonically than cassette tapes...incidentally I love David Gates...V

i wish I would have known you would be collecting these 46 years ago. I had quite a few of them. Great shot. ~V~

Nasty! I still remember the Hexaphonic sound at the big Movie Theatres with 70mm film prints with 16 sound tracks!!!
The world is NOT moving forward! At those days, we could still fly supersonic on Concorde! Now? We have Covid....
