In my opinion the most beautiful of windows
York Minster - North Transept architecture: The 'fantastic' north window in north transept, the so called Five Sisters' Window (~1260) made of grey and green 'grisaille' glass in geometrical patterns. The North transept is built in the Early English Gothic style of architecture. This giant lancet windows are 53 feet long and contain the largest expanse of old grisaille glass in existence and there are over 100, 000 individual pieces of glass!
