Elliston, Va

Norfolk & Southern Rail Road has run a number of excursions of the restored Southern Rail Road steam locomotive #630. This oil painting was based on a photograph I took when one of the #630 excursions passed through Elliston, Virginia on an evening return trip to Roanoke, Virginia. The continuing covid 19 situation is still keeping me close to home with a lot of time to paint.

Such a cool scene and it makes such a wonderful painting. I'm sure the photo it came from was great as well. Do they still run this train anymore or at least have plans to start again? ~BV~

A very nice oil painting beautiful detail work on the steam engine and the rest of the cars.
Nice perspective great light depicted a beautiful sky and nice touch of country side surrounding.
Love the ballast along the track looks great.
