Since I’m not as a sophisticated drinker as yourself so I’ll need to pass on guessing the exact ingredients of the others. I watched the Bond movies so all I know is Shaken not stirred! Paul

Yes, it's a real Martini, as in a gin Martini. Bond drinks a vodka "Martini", but that's not actually a Martini (I'm a purist about names of cocktails). I learned from an experienced bartender two things about these drinks that are illustrated in this picture. First, the so-called "vodka Martini" was an early example of product placement. The Smirnoff vodka company paid Ian Fleming to put it in his Bond books. Second, it is bad luck to have an even number of olives in your Martini. I asked for one with two, and he almost passed out, before explaining to me the terrible faux pas I had just committed. But one is obviously not enough, hence the three in this drink (I love olives). My friend, whose bar it was where I learned this, promptly ordered nine in his. Now that really would be a salad!
But this was the easy drink. What are the two in Pending?

You know James Bond kind of martini! “Shaken not stirred” Paul

Well, the Beefeater Gin bottle in the background was a give away....but maybe too many olives! Mr. Bond would consider that to be a salad, not a drink...lol. Traveller

Re martini - I don't drink them, but I assumed it was what James Bond had to drink.

Thanks Paul. The two in Pending might be a bit more difficult to guess. My question for you, though, is what is in a run of the mill Martini? :)

Very nice, love the lighting. Run of the mill martini if you ask me. Paul

Thanks Mick. Your guess is close, but no cigar.

Nice pic Alastair, and great play on the title.
I'd hazard a guess at Dirty Vodka Martini.
