old ways

the idea of vaccines getting our lives 'back to normal' has some appeal, yet the old ways have often proved inadequate...a 'new normal' is called for in so many aspects of life

How cool to find these old industrial bits in the grass. Good in mono too. V

Great lines, curves and tones in this well composed image.

Good shot of the mechanical wizardry. There seems to be a new normal every couple of weeks. V

Your image illustrate so well your words...V.

One way or another the wheels will turn to shift gears in this evolutionary time.

Neat shot - would work nicely for the CAPA competition this month "Lines and Curves". V
PS I don't think anything will be normal again :(

Wonderful tones, and monochrome shades. I hate that phrase "a new normal."

Very cool find and an astute observation. V

Great use of B&W - showing the strength and resilience of these old ways.

Super image David.. The old-ways might be physically harder, but perhaps more rewarding to the soul.

Things are becoming quickly ( and sadly) becoming obsolete. This conveys that well. V

Good find David, lots of lovely tones and shades here...I like the strong diagonals too

I am wondering what the person who had to use this to try and assist theirself in making a living would think about how it is done today.
Therefore normal is just a relative concept I guess!
This is a great monochrome and A greta subject.

Definitely looks like the gears are clogged. Hopefully we'll have better luck breaking them open on a societal level.

Great shot of this interesting piece of equipment. I no longer know what "normal" is, new or otherwise.
Dan Greenberg17-Mar-2021 18:31
A great abstract view of what I assume is a piece of farm machinery. Excellent lines, angles and B&W tones. A new normal is definitely in order. And then that too will change. ~V~

Unusual kind of drive chain is used here..... "Normal" seems a volatile concept these days and changes with new insights constantly .
Walter Otto Koenig17-Mar-2021 17:28
Interesting complexity. Good choice of tones.
Constant adjustment is necessary for machinery and humans. Problem is most humans do not like it, but it's inevitable.
