Signs of the times

Closed pub and cyclists.
This pub belongs to a friend's brother. It's been closed since March 12 2020.
Although there was a facility to serve food, the owner decided not to reopen it when restrictions eased as he felt that being in a rural area,
it would be too difficult to ask his customers and neighbours to leave after the prescribed time.
By chance a couple of cyclists went by as I was taking a quick snap of the pub as I took the long way home from a trip to the supermarket.
There has been a massive increase in the number of people cycling since the pandemic started last Spring.
Bicycle shops have found it hard to get enough stock to meet the demands of people wishing to buy a new bike.

These are certainly strange times for our generation. Nice capture.

Good timing Mairead - I bet that's a lovely pub to have a freshner...I hope it makes it through to the other side of lock down

An excellent documentary capture. V.

Bicycles and home exercise equipment are very scarce here in Texas! One industry dying and another booming in the pandemic.

a timely capture including a couple of results of the Covid chaos...on weekends there are long lineups here at local bike shops too..

Great timing to get the cyclists, and I can see why bikes would be so popular these days. V.

I hope they are able to manage this long loss of income. It looks such a pretty and well cared for pub. Here because of work from home many families left the big expensive cities for regional living and now the housing market is booming with prices soaring...a bit like being on a bike, the wheels keep turning.
Very nice shot. V
