Finished work a bit early today and found myself in Tewkesbury with the D700 and 28mm f/2.8 in hand, which was nice.
This is the Abbey Church of St Mary the Virgin (or Tewkesbury Abbey). It's a former Benedictine monastery dating from the 12th century but now serves as a parish church, and is often considered one of the finest examples of Norman architecture in Britain. As if to emphasis its massive stonework, the Romanesque crossing tower is the largest in Europe and dominates the surrounding meadows.
