Blown Off

Nature continues on with her normal, seasonal cycle. The Silver Maples are currently in flower. However, our area has had sustained winds of 32 mph all day today; with frequent & prolonged gusts close to 60 mph. The high wind stripped a lot of the flowers off the trees before the flowers were able to complete their life cycle to make seed pods.

That’s what you see in the photo above.

We also had lawn furniture blow off our deck today & had to retrieve things before they went into the neighbors’ yard to never been seen again. Temperatures were nice, but the high wind made it not a good day to be outside.

Sorry to hear that, but you've gotten an excellent capture of the flowers all the same.

For awhile today we had very strong winds here, between 40-60kmh, but not sustained like you had, THat is when things get really blown about. Still, your male flowers make quite the attractive shot, though better they stayed on the tree.
