World Book Day

Yesterday was World Book Day so a quick snap of a beautiful special edition of Anne of Green Gables which I picked up in a discount supermarket of all places.
It wasn't, however, a case of judging a book by its cover as I had read this delightful story many years ago and wouldn't mind reading it again.
It's been a busy week at work but I'm now on holidays for a week so hopefully I will have plenty of time for photography and catching up with all my Pbase friends. And Spring cleaning as there will little else to do as we're still in lockdown.

Agree with Laine, a book has to be read by turning its pages, not by swiping right...love the light and the composition Mairead, great shot

Very much favoured here too....NOTHING replaces the turning of a page :)

What a beautiful book cover! I imagine you'll enjoy a week off, even if you can't go anywhere, and Fudge and Toffee should be happy to have you at home.

It's well spotlit.
With regard to the glasses, I find that the less I read these days, the more my eyes appreciate it. Unless it's a book that requires extensive illustrations, technical diagrams (or it's a book on photography naturally), I do almost all of my "reading" via audio books now. It also allows for multitasking; you can listen while you spring clean, give Fudge a bath, or give Toffee a bath, if you dare.
