Sophie was lucky to have pepper to look up to in
the first months of being with him. Puppies usually
learn how to behave from their mothers, but when
they go to new homes, that learning stops. Homes
without older dogs tend to have a hard time with
normal puppy behavior when the owners don't know
why the puppies are so nippy and hyperactive.
Then they end up with behavioral problems after
punishing or trying to correct normal puppy behaviors.
