A nice sharp image of this majestic animal. A tough time of day to shoot i.e.. very bright light. In spite of this the highlights and shadows on the cat are well managed. It is unfortunate that the cat
happened to be behind the branch. This is rather distracting for two reasons, the first, the branch is brighter than the cat and therefore commands the viewers eye. Second, the branch presents
a physical barrier and obstructs a significant portion of the animal. The composition using the branch as a leading line across the frame is a sound approach however in this instance the cat happens to be
looking off frame to the right. This leads the viewer’s eye to the cat and then off to the right (the direction the cat is looking in) leaving the left portion of the frame with nothing to hold the viewer’s attention.
This left side of the frame represents a good third of the composition. Photographing animals requires patience and time to hopefully yield all the right elements. Keep practising!
