Sadly, this plant recently froze to death during the Arctic Blast of February 2021.
It met its fate - along with many other plants - in our Solar Room.
The plant was over 20 years old.
Now, I’m left with only memories of better times.
So far, 2021 hasn’t been the best of years.

The COVID Situation in the USA
ONE Year Ago today
“Hindsight”; as they say
Trump says it's "not the right time" for Italy and South Korea travel restrictions.
Trump declared, “We’ve done a great job. When you have 15 people — with this whole world coming into the United States — and the 15 people are either better or close to being better, that’s pretty good.”
US Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said coronavirus poses a low risk to the American public
Later in the day of February 26, 2020 “There are now 60 confirmed cases of novel coronavirus in the United States, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The current total breaks down to 42 passengers who were aboard the Diamond Princess cruise ship, three people repatriated from China and 15 US cases.” CNN
President Trump said Vice President Mike Pence will lead the team that's working on the US's coronavirus efforts.
Trump: "Treat this like you treat the flu"

Today
February 26, 2020 now seems like a lifetime ago. Or more correctly, it actually was over 513,000 American lifetimes ago…
Today alone, February 26, 2021, the USA has reported 85,007 new confirmed cases and 3,630 confirmed new deaths; according to the CDC. Today’s reality is a long way from a grand total 15 cases of just one year ago and the USA being touted as being “low risk”.
CDC Current United States COVID statistics
Updated Feb 26 at 3:50 PM local time
28,693,938 (28.6 Million) COVID Cases
513,517 (over 1/2 Million) COVID Deaths
At the moment, statistics of today’s new, fairly high, daily COVID case and death numbers are on the decline over what they were during January 2021. January was brutal. Still, even with things now leveling off a bit, we must not forget that COVID is still very much in America and with Americans. We were so naïve and foolish a year ago to this day. By down playing the virus last year, we helped COVID to take over our country. Now, in our quest to be able to return to a quality of life resembling the “old normal” we need to do better. We must still wear a mask, wash our hands, and practice social distancing outside the home. Now, is not yet the time to let our guard down.
What will February 26, 2022 bring? Hopefully better times.
And maybe a new baby jade plant that will someday grow up to flower as beautifully as the one in the photo above did year after year
until it went to Plant Heaven a week ago.
