“gopher spurge,” Euphorbia lathyris

Have no idea what this plant is. Spotted this today along the northeast end of Lake Georgette (at Blandy Farm) heading towards the main buildings.
Some were only 10 inches high while others were nearly 2 feet high.
Dave Carr (Director & Research Professor at Blandy Experimental Farm - Virginia's Arboretum) came to my rescue on this one! Thanks Dave!
