The new normal

An everyday street scene in the time of coronavirus.
Amazing how in the course of a year, we have got used to
wearing masks and social distancing.
I didn't, however, take a photo of the three maskless men having a chat
in a bakery while the staff wore their masks on their chins.
I also didn't buy any pastries.

Great bit of street photography, so well suited to B&W. Totally agree with your narrative as well

Masks aren't really required down here any longer except on public transport (and even there there has been a noticeable drop-off in the compliance rate), but since our 7 day average new case load is hovering between 5 and 7 cases per day across the entire country we can get away with that.

The black and white suits the subject well here.

Love this in mono, despite the modern masks, a vintage feel. And definitely a sign of the times, as is, unfortunately, the description of the other less careful folk. V

I really like the composition in this. A good reporting on this sign of the times. We have some who disregard the mask orders too. Not many... but they are out there. Sabotaging things. :( V

Great capture of what is definitely the new normal. I was just thinking the same thing when out with Sahraa for a walk -- pretty much everybody around here wears masks and goes out of their way on sidewalks to social distance, with a few exceptions, of course (who I hope hear what I call them under my breath ;-)).
