Thanks to everyone who asked where I've been this past week. We had some crazy weather here in Texas. We're fine, but there are a lot of people who aren't.
We lost power for days, but still had water thankfully. We had to put our refrigerator contents outside (where it was 9F and 12F and 19F each night) and we cooked on our gas grill.
Many homes in this part of Texas don't have central heating. For us, air-conditioning is what we use 9 months of the year. Older homes are built on piers and don't have insulated floors.
Otherwise, pipes are in the attic because we don't have basements. Coldest weather ever in history in Galveston and 130 years for Houston.
And btw... farewell to my garden...
