Built originally in the 10th century, the Saint-Salvator was a common parish church. The original church
was destroyed by fire and rebuilt in 1250 AD. That church was destroyed by the French at the end of the 18th
century. After Belgium gained independence in 1830, the church was restored to its former glory, with a much
larger tower.
