Amy and Dan never had kids, and their dogs were their kids. The painting over the mantel was done by my mother (Keira’s great-grandmother) ... we always called it “The Bottle People”. I think it’s a copy of a work by Pablo Picasso, the famous French Impressionist painter. Mother (as we called her) liked to paint during the day when we were in school. She often got her inspiration from jigsaw puzzle box lids ... these times were well before the Internet came along.
