While looking for moths one night in mid-June last year, in the forest, I kept saying to myself "please, Puh-leeeze, let there be a cecropia moth!!" And wouldn't you know, one, and then two, appeared and stayed until we packed up and left. They are incredible members of the Giant Silk Moth family. Stephen encouraged one to sit on his hand to show just how big they are. Impressive and beautiful, looking more tropical than north woods! Needless to say this photo made my day (or night).
