The man has been reading The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe
It's a poem about a verbally challenged bird tormenting a poet
It reveals much about the condition affecting our humans
But the problem here isn't so much the presence of the Raven
The real problem is the lack of a dog
A dog would chase away the intruding Raven
And never allow it to perch on the bust of Pallas
Furthermore, a dog has a much larger vocabulary
Thus making a more suitable companion on a dark and dreary winter night
