neon glow

Kitsilano

the Fairleigh family ran the Hollywood theatre for 76 years, offering discount double-bills of second run movies...unable to afford the step up to digital projection, they had to turn out the lights in 2011..now under new owners the doors are open again...on opening night back in 1935, one of the movies featured Thelma Todd starring in 'Lightning Strikes Twice'...so it does, and the neon marquee glows once more

A fine shot, I love the angle of view, nothing beats the old "neon" for
night time signage.

I miss seeing all the old theatre marquees. Every little town had a really unique theatre. We spent a lot of Saturdays watching the double-feature matinee, especially after my best friend got a job there and I could get in "free" Love your choice of angle on this shot.

Love to see old theaters brought back to life. We had a local one near me but it couldn't afford required earthquake upgrades so it went away forever.

That's exciting news that it has reopened but I surprised it's happening during the pandemic.
