Due to another suicide they have closed the Vessel.
Here is the article from the New York Times.

Looks rather confusing at first but the patterns eventually do emerge. I suppose plastic barriers will be installed. V

I’m so sorry to hear it closed. Your photo shows how spectacular it is and potentially how deadly. V

Life is so full of sadness - I see young people struggling with the COVID situation, not to mention all life's other difficulties. I wonder what they'll do to the Vessel to prevent this happening. Great shot BTW. V

Another super shot of this beautiful, but integrate structure Jane. Sad that it has become a venue for desperate people intent on ending their life.

a compelling view, alas tinged by the despair of a person driven to such an extreme decision and act..

What a tragedy. As for the scene, I'll probably be dizzy all day now after seeing it.

How very sad to read of another suicide there. From the article it sounds like they'll have to install higher railings before it can reopen. V.

Nothing is more heart rending.
This is a powerful work and captures the feeling of being lost.

Never thought of that possibility, but looking at the Vessel from that point of view does make it accessible to jumpers.. perhaps after the World gets back to happier times it can be reopened.

such an amazing perspective. So sad this happened...V

Without the lovely light of you other images of this it also looks deadened. What a waste...
