Of late my indoor garden is expanding and I've been experimenting with "something out of nothing" putting the bottoms of green onions in water so I can snip the tops.
Today, after watching a YouTube video on how to grow garlic I peeled the outer skin off a head of garlic, snipped off the tops of the cloves as shown, and found a glass on which it would sit in a bit of water. I wish I had a glass in which it could sit a little lower but it will do. We haven't used that glass since we lived in Ingolstadt, Germany, in 1975!
When the garlic has sent out nice roots I will separate the cloves and plant them in soil. I am also trying a romaine lettuce head bottom for the first time. I will probably put that in soil too when it develops roots and place both it and the garlic under lights.
