Steller's Jay

A beautiful bird who can fly across the yard as quiet as
a whisper when the nut trees are in season.
They work along the hedges hiding the found larder for leaner times.
Or they will out call loud and raucous to un-nerve other birds with mimics of hawks.
They will commandeer a bird feeder and swing it like a heavy metal rocker to
sift the sun flower seeds out. They are fun to watch and one of my favorites!

The steller's jays are wonderful, I remember seeing them all the time when I lived out west. V

Excellent capture. Brings back a memory of when I played the part of a Jay Bird, mimicked their sound for a play, once. V

Nice shot of this very active bird. Like the pose and catch light.

They are BC's Provincial bird - I was upset with that choice as they were always the greediest bird at the bird feeder in spite of being the prettiest. Haven't seen any here.

Ine general, Jay's are nervy and aggressive. The New York ones that sometimes attacked me were
