Happy New Year

There was a dusting of snow this morning and the editor asked me to take a pic which we could share on our Facebook page inviting readers to send in their snowy photos.
As the snow had all but disappeared by the time our virtual news meeting had finished, I had to call on my best model (sorry Toffee) to get a shot.
2020 has been a difficult year for many and it seems almost inappropriate to wish everyone a Happy New Year when the Covid-19 pandemic continues to bring tragedy.
I wish everyone a better year in 2021 and thanks for the friendships found here.

Happy New Year, Mairead!!! What a lovely portrait of a very special dog. Fudge is looking very festive. Like you, when I posted my own New Years greeting, I also questioned if the normal seasonal greeting was appropriate during these sad times for so many. But then, I realized that wishing health and happiness to friends and loved ones in the new year means we are not giving up hope that they will eventually be some kind of normality again for those of us who survive the pandemic. Although the first half of 2020 doesn't look good, maybe the second half will be better. We can only hope. Meanwhile, everyday we each remain healthy and have food on the table is a good day. So yes, a new years greeting are appropriate. It signifies hope for better days ahead for the world.

Fudge makes a fine model, and should attract more reader photos for sure...hope you stay healthy in the coming year, as improvements to the current malaise are sujre to come slowly..

Best wishes for a better year, a road to recovery which I do believe is a long way off and we can only follow the best medical advise...the latest being the new mutation and it's faster spread...I know like me you push for the vaccine. Stay safe, you and yours
