Cathédrale Saint-Pierre, Poitiers, France

view map

Construction began in 1162 by Henry II of England and Eleanor of Aquitaine on the ruins of a Roman basilica.
Most of the work was completed by the end of the 12th century, and the cathedral remains the largest medieval
monument in the city of Poitiers.
This window, depicting the Crucifixion, dates from the 12th century.
