ZooLights Express comes to Capitol Hill

Every year the National Zoo puts on ZooLights, when all their trees are beautifully lit up, with numerous displays of illuminated animals and light shows, drawing enormous crowds. It had to be canceled this year due to the pandemic, so ZooLights has been touring every ward of the city, and tonight was Capitol Hill’s turn. It was a truck covered in lights with a big panda in front and lit-up skateboarders moving alongside it, with a snow machine on board.

Picture isn’t very good, but I wanted to show it here because I thought it was a great idea to bring some joy to people during these difficult days.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly
unsharp.

This is good the seasonal light come to you! There are large drive thru displays
around metro areas in my state this year versus previous walk thru displays.

good catch, and certainly a welcome treat for Capitol hillbillies...all large light shows have been cancelled here too, although a few small installations can be found around town..

Another great example of a group adapting with imagination to the circumstances.

That is so sweet. I’m glad they did that. V

What a fantastic idea!!! A great way to spread Christmas cheer and still keep people safe.
Here, the "walk through" Botanical Gardens holiday light display is going on in person - as if the pandemic didn't exist: no masks required.

That is colourful, and nice to see them taking the initiative.

What a great idea. Houston Zoo Lights is still going on, but limited crowd and you have to make reservations.
