Mendon Ponds Park is the largest Monroe County Park with 2,500 acres of woodlands, ponds, wetlands and glacially created landforms.
In 1969, it was named to the National Registry of Natural Landmarks due to its geologic history and presence of significant kames, eskers,
and kettles. We used to live across the road from the park and spent many hours walking there. I still like to go there to rejuvenate
as usually there are very few people there. Today was not the case due to Covid-19 and a rare 50F day in mid-December!
Fortunately, I was still able to find a few pockets of solitude.
