The church is located directly on the cliff (Scuol is etymologically related to the Latin scopulus = rock ledge) down to the Inn. A previous Carolingian church in the same place burned down in 1258.In the meantime, a Romanesque church served as a house of worship until Bernhard von Puschlav received the order to build a Gothic church at the beginning of the 16th century.The Scuoler Church is a nave with a single nave. The choir is designed in three parts. The choir windows show Christ motifs of the Good Shepherd and the vine.Around 1530 Scuol joined the Reformation, so that the Georgskirche became a preaching church
